Probing the August 25 violence after Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s conviction in rape cases, the Panchkula police have sought the details of the owners of vehicles that were part of Ram Rahim’s cavalcade.
Sources said ACP Munish Sehgal had served a notice on dera chairperson Vipassana Insan asking her to provide the details by September 28. The sources said the police had provided Vipassana a list of vehicles that formed Ram Rahim’s cavalcade.
The dera chief had come to Panchkula to appear before the special CBI court in over 150-vehicle cavalcade. His conviction was followed by large-scale violence that left 35 dead and several others injured in Panchkula.
