A team of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (PCB) has sealed four industrial units on the Pasina Kalan road of the district for violating pollution norms. Bir Singh, MD, Sugar Mill, appointed as the Duty Magistrate and Ajay Mor, SHO, PS Sadar were also present with the team.
Bhupender Siungh Chahal, regional officer, PCB, said, “A complaint was received from Pasina Kalan panchayat against industrial units. Of these — Delite International, Vikas Spinning Mill, JK Export and Balaji Spinners — were found violating the norms.”
These units discharged untreated trade effluent through rain water harvesting system thereby polluting soil water.
He said on the basis of an inquiry report closure notices were issued to four industrial units by the PCB under Section 33A of the Water Act, 1974 he said.
Meanwhile, several traders and industrialists led by Roshan Lal Gupta, chairman, Haryana Vyapar Mandal alleged harassment and opposed the action taken by the PCB.
