Bangladeshi officals in Ambalato study govt programmes

AMBALA: A team of administrative officials from Bangladesh today reached Ambala to know about the programmes and schemes run by various government departments in the state.

A team of administrative officials from Bangladesh today reached Ambala to know about the programmes and schemes run by various government departments in the state.

A 36-member team reached Panchayat Bhawan Ambala city where they got information about the working of all major departments, including the District Rural Development Agency, Food and Supplies, Health, Agriculture, Women and Child Development Department and Red Cross.

They later visited various offices, including E-disha centre, women police station, tehsil and ration depot centre to learn the functioning on the ground level.

Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh explained the visiting officials about the projects being run in Ambala. The Bangladeshi administrative officials were told about the MGNREGA, Swachh Bharat Mission and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. They later gathered information about the work being done at the SDM office.

They also reached women police station and learned about the laws and rights for women.

The team would now visit Ghaziabad, Delhi and Kolkata before going back to Bangladesh.
