New Delhi, April 26

Dismissing AAP’s allegation of faulty EVMs, BJP said that election results of the municipal corporations have given a clear message that people want development, not controversy.

AAP has failed to understand the mood of the nation. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was not ready to perform.

He did not want to work with the Central government, said Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu who reached the BJP office while the party was leading during the counting.

Congratulating Manoj Tiwari, BJP president, Naidu said that it is a decisive vote against the abusive campaign led by Kejriwal against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  The Union minister said the poll results are a clear capital punishment for the Aam Aadmi Party which was indulging only in negative politics despite getting a huge mandate in the last assembly polls.

Tiwari said that today’s victory is the result of trust of people in the Prime Minister, planning of national president Amit Shah, public welfare works by the MCDs during the last 10 years and the hard labour of the party workers and the office-bearers of the party.

Addressing a press conference, Tiwari said, “We accept the massive support expressed by the people of Delhi in BJP with humility but we have decided to stay the celebration of this victory to express our sympathy to the family members of the martyrs of Sukma.”

The Booth Panch Parmeshwar Sammelan organized under the guidance of Amit Shah and the work of these Panch Parmeshwars on the date of polling became the decisive factor. The contribution of success on 24 seats out of 48 seats reserved for the Scheduled Castes was also a reason for party’s success, he said.

In these elections, the traditional supporters voted for the BJP and the support of the people of Scheduled Castes, Poorvanchal, Uttranchal made the victory unprecedented.

Gupta: AAP should adopt approach of cooperation

Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta said that after the results the AAP should give up the politics of confrontation and adopt the approach of cooperation. The step-motherly attitude of the Chief Minister towards MCDs was rejected by voters, he said.

People rejected politics of confrontation: Goel

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel today thanked the people of Delhi for choosing development over theatrics and politics of confrontation as propagated by AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal as the BJP secured a thumping victory in the MCD elections.

Goel said, “Victory of the BJP in the MCD polls shows that people rejected politics of confrontation as practiced by the AAP.”

The Union minister said the mandate clearly shows that those who deliver on promises are hailed by the public or else are shown the door for lack of performance, he said.

He stated, “The win is a result of people’s confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development model which the AAP failed to deliver.

“In fact they repackaged their previous promises made during the 2015 Delhi Assembly polls, but failed to catch the pulse of the public and couldn’t read the writing on the wall.

“This was a referendum of sorts and people

mandate is a clear indication that abusing, creating false notions and theatrics won’t work in the long run, that’s the reason the AAP hit a dead end and have now resorted to blaming EVMs,” the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports added.
