Since Arvind Kejriwal has come to power, many people have lost their lives on account of water disputes, said Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Maken, who visited the jhuggi of Lal Bahadur (60), who was killed while trying to collect some water at the industrial area JJ clusters in Wazirpur.

Maken consoled family members of Lal Bahadur.

He said during the Congress rule, water pipes had been laid to provide drinking water to the people in the Wazirpur industrial area, but for the past four-five months, water supply through pipeline had been stopped. The supply is being done through water tankers that is inadequate resulting in incidents of people clashing has become an everyday occurrence in the area, which resulted in the death of a poor worker like Lal Bahadur.

Maken said the poor people are not on the priority list of the AAP government. In the areas where the poor and labourers live the level of ammonia in the water is much above the permissible limit whereas in the areas where the rich people live, the ammonia in the drinking water is at the permissible level.

Maken said there would be a severe shortage of water in the coming days due to the irresponsible action and inactivity of the AAP government in Delhi.

Maken appealed to the CEO of the Delhi Jal Board to take immediate steps to solve the water shortage in the Wazirpur industrial area and other areas.
