IAS, DANICS associations, along with the Delhi Administration Subordinate Services, today condemned the alleged manhandling of Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash by a few ruling AAP MLAs at CM’s residence last night and lodged their protest with LG Anil Baijal.

They have sought action against all those behind the incident, saying that the officers and staff would continue to work in their offices unlike the confrontation between the AAP dispensation and the bureaucracy in 2015-end when they had proceeded on leave to protest the suspension of two officers.

IAS bodies claimed the whole incident “appears to be pre-planned and pre-meditated” and alleged that the meeting was called last night to put pressure on the Chief Secretary to release publicity material regarding achievements of the AAP government going against the Supreme Court guidelines, something which was denied by the Kejriwal government.

As per the AAP government, the meeting was over discrepancies in distribution of ration and not on the issue of advertisements.

“It is false information that the meeting and the argument was about TV ads. The entire discussion was on how a large number of families were not getting ration,” said the party in a statement issued today.

It said about 2.5 lakh families last month were deprived of rations they were entitled to because of faulty implementation of Aadhaar and MLAs were under pressure from the people because of this.

“There was a meeting of MLAs at the Chief Minister’s residence. The Chief Secretary refused to answer questions saying that he was not answerable to MLAs and Chief Minister and that he was answerable only to the LG. He even used bad language against some MLAs and left without answering any questions,” the statement said.

“If the Chief Secretary can make such wild allegations, one can imagine the kind of obstacles that are being created in the AAP government’s work by the BJP through officers,” the party said.

However, the IAS officers of the Delhi Government maintained the meeting did not have any emergency or had nothing to do with public interest.
