Govt to cancel holidays on anniversaries

NEW DELHI:Taking a cue from the BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, the Delhi Government has decided to cancel public holidays on the birth or death anniversary of eminent personalities.

Taking a cue from the BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, the Delhi Government has decided to cancel public holidays on the birth or death anniversary of eminent personalities.

In this regard, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia lauded the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh for cancelling 15 public holidays on the birth or death anniversary of noted personalities.

“The Delhi Government will cancel holidays on the birth or death anniversary of eminent personalities. In this regard, I have issued instruction to the Chief Secretary,” Sisodia tweeted.

"The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a good initiative in this matter. We should always be ready to learn from other states,” he said.
