A 31-year-old man and his wife have allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from a ceiling fan in Neb Sarai, South Delhi, a police official said today.
According to police, Ram Chandra and his wife Neetu (27) were found hanging from the fan by Chandra's mother this morning.
Chandra's mother used to go to a neighbour's house to sleep. When she returned to her son's house this morning, no one opened the door despite repeated knocks.
When she called the neighbours and the door was broken, the couple were found hanging from a ceiling fan, the official said.
Their children aged three years and three months, respectively, were sleeping when the couple took the extreme step.
No suicide note was found and the reason is not known yet, the official said, adding that probe is on.
The couple was married for four years.
