Cong accuses BJP, AAP of fooling people

NEW DELHI:Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Maken said when it comes to serving each other’s interests, the BJP-led Centre and the Aam Aadmy Party (AAP) government join hands and if they do not want to do a particular work, they fight with each other.

New Delhi, May 25

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Maken said when it comes to serving each other’s interests, the BJP-led Centre and the Aam Aadmy Party (AAP) government join hands and if they do not want to do a particular work, they fight with each other.

Maken said whether it was increasing the Excise Duty and VAT on petrol and diesel, or in capturing posts in the Standing Committee and zonal elections in the Municipal Corporations of Delhi, the BJP and the AAP helped each other.

He said both the parties indulge in mock wrestling to fool the people when they do not want to do a particular job, but comes to each other’s aid when it suits their self-interest.

Maken said the main reason for the prices of petrol and diesel going up was that the Centre increased the excise duty nine times in the past four years while the AAP government increased VAT on gasoline (petroleum products) twice. — TNS
