Cabinet approves Metro extension in Noida

New Delhi: The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, today approved extension of Metro rail network from Noida City Centre to Sector-62, Noida, with an investment of Rs 1,967 crore.



New Delhi, May 16

The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, today approved extension of Metro rail network from Noida City Centre to Sector-62, Noida, with an investment of Rs 1,967 crore.

The new line will be extension of the Dwarka-Noida City Centre (Blue Line) stretch of the Delhi Metro and is proposed to have six stations covering a length of 6.675 km.

The proposed line will cater to the mobility needs of residents of both Noida and areas bordering Ghaziabad, will boost the development of more residential and commercial complexes in the region and will help more people to move to the satellite town of Delhi, thus decongesting the capital. — TNS
