BJP takes out Tiranga Yatra

NEW DELHI:Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, along with state affairs in charge Shyam Jaju, launched a Tiranga Yatra in the Chandni Chowk parliamentary constituency this evening.

Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, along with state affairs in charge Shyam Jaju, launched a Tiranga Yatra in the Chandni Chowk parliamentary constituency this evening.

The yatra began from the Wazirpur Industrial area and ended at Sai Sewa Sadan. A large number of party activists carried national flags on two-wheelers. While on the way they were welcomed in each assembly constituency area and the municipal wards.

The Tiranga Yatra moved through Ashok Vihar, Shalimar Bagh, Maya Ram Goal Chakkar, Ashiana Chowk, Fawwara Chowk, Raj Nagar, Samrat Enclave, Netaji Subhash Place, Prem Badi Pul, Azadpur, Rajan Babu Road Adarsh Nagar and culminated at Sai Sewa Sadan.

The yatra began at 4 pm and ended after 6 pm. The yatra was launched to inculcate the feeling of nationalism among the people,  Vardhan said.

The minister exhorted people to do something in the name of the country than just enjoying rights. The people should try to fulfil their duties. “We salute our freedom fighters who dedicated their lives for the freedom struggle”, he said.

Several other BJP leaders, including North Delhi Mayor Sanjeev Nayyar, accompanied Vardhan during the journey.

Besides, BJP Mahila Morcha also took out Tiranga Yatra in Connaught Place.
