PATIALA:To spread awareness about the prevention of heart diseases and controlling the risk factors, Columbia Asia Hospitals, Patiala, today organised a two-day cardiology camp.

To spread awareness about the prevention of heart diseases and controlling the risk factors, Columbia Asia Hospitals, Patiala, today organised a two-day cardiology camp.

During the camp, vital health parameters of individuals will be checked, their heart health will be scanned and advice on prevention imparted.

Dr Jeewan Mittal, Consultant-Cardiology, Columbia Asia Hospital, Patiala, says, “Multiple factors contribute to the risk of cardiac ailments, from high blood pressure and cholesterol, obesity, hypertension and stress, diabetes, to smoking and alcohol consumption. The key to prevent cardiovascular disease is managing the risk factors. Unfortunately, many of us tend to neglect heart’s health until we experience a heart attack or stroke. Prevention is crucial because in many cases even the first heart attacks are fatal. To understand the risk factors that are affecting you, it is extremely important to undergo screening tests.”
