Youth held for raping mentally challenged

CHANDIGARH: Two days after a 60-year-old mentally challenged woman was raped, the police arrested a 23-year-old youth, Sandeep Singh Rana, a native of Uttarakhand, in the case.

Two days after a 60-year-old mentally challenged woman was raped, the police arrested a 23-year-old youth, Sandeep Singh Rana, a native of Uttarakhand, in the case.

The victim, a resident of Kishangarh, was raped at her house by the accused. The incident was captured on a mobile phone by a 16-year-old boy, who had gone to the victim’s house where he saw the accused committing the crime.

The accused then escaped from the spot. The police were informed and the 40-second video clip was provided to them. A case in this regard was registered at the IT Park police station. — TNS
