Udhav helps Challengers to 2-run victory

CHANDIGARH: Udhav Jindal shone with both bat and ball as Challengers beat Warriors by two runs in a nail biting finish in the ongoing U-12 cricket tournament being played at St. Soldiers School grounds here today.

Chandigarh, November 17

Udhav Jindal shone with both bat and ball as Challengers beat Warriors by two runs in a nail biting finish in the ongoing U-12 cricket tournament being played at St. Soldiers School grounds here today.

Electing to bat, Challengers got off to a solid start as Jindal and Lakshay Yadav added 120 runs for the opening wicket.

However, three quick wickets pushed Challengers on to the back foot. Jindal was out for 68, while Yadav returned to the hut on 30. The side eventually closed their innings on 141/8 in 25 overs.

Needing 142 for victory, Warriors lost their top three batsmen for just 29 runs. The next three batsmen could also not make any substantial contribution to the total.

It was finally left to Sahil Pujara (38 not out) and Suraj (28) to take the side close to victory. The duo stitched a 100-run partnership for the seventh wicket, but missed the target by just two runs. — TNS
