Chandigarh, April 19
INDIA bloc joint candidate from Chandigarh and former Union Minister Manish Tewari said these elections are the last chance to save democracy in the country. He said it is not a fight for any particular party, but for this country.
Tewari was addressing a meeting of ex-servicemen, former civil servants and thinkers and intellectuals from different sections of the society at Shri Guru Singh Sabha.
The former minister stressed that everyone would have to fight unitedly to save the democracy of the country. He said at the time of Independence, India adopted the democratic system and it was called the world’s largest and strongest democracy. “We have to take the country forward in the direction of progress by strengthening unity and brotherhood. This is possible only when our democratic institutions remain strong. Therefore, this election is the last chance to save our democratic institutions,” he said.
