DAV girls clinch handball title

Chandigarh, February 22

Handball Coaching Centre of DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, beat Coaching Centre , Sector 42, 15-13 to win the girls' junior title in the ongoing 31st Sub Junior and 30th Junior State Handball Championship here today. 

Archna contributed five goals to the win, while Ayushi scored three. Alisha Tanvi and Smrity also shot two goals each to help the team to victory.

For the losing side, Kalpana scored six goals, while Komal and Neetu chipped in with three goals each. 

Meanwhile, Handball Coaching Centre, Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 23, drubbed Handball Coaching Centre, Sector 42, 23-13 to reach the boys' junior category final. 

Abhishek scripted the win for Government Model Senior Secondary School with 10 goals, while Dev added five and Karampal contributed four goals to the tally. 

Vishal was the top scorer for the losing side, scoring seven goals. 

In the boys' sub-junior semifinals, DAV School beat Coaching Centre, Sector 42, 17-11. Vaibhav Tyagi scored eight goals, followed by Reshav Rawat (4). Sunil and Rohit scored two goals each. For the Sector 42 outfit, Mukesh scored eight goals.
