Six held for bursting crackers

Chandigarh: Continuing the drive against violators of ban on bursting crackers in the city, the police on Saturday arrested six persons who were found exploding crackers at a park in Sector 47.



Chandigarh: Continuing the drive against violators of ban on bursting crackers in the city, the police on Saturday arrested six persons who were found exploding crackers at a park in Sector 47. Sources said the police arrested the persons acting on a complaint. There is a ban on bursting crackers in the city till October 26. A case under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant) of the IPC has been registered. The arrested persons were later released on bail. A total of 87 cases have been registered for bursting or selling crackers and 57 persons arrested so far in the city. —TNS
