P’kula woman run over by truck, dies

PANCHKULA:A woman was killed in a road accident on the Pinjore-Nalagarh National Highway-21 on Sunday morning.

A woman was killed in a road accident on the Pinjore-Nalagarh National Highway-21 on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Saroj (48), a resident of Panchkula. The victim was riding pillion on a two-wheeler. 

The scooterist stopped near the railway crossing on the NH-21 when all of a sudden, Saroj fell down and was run over by a truck coming from behind.

She was taken to a private health facility and later to a primary health centre at Pinjore where doctors declared her brought dead.

A police official said they had kept the body at the mortuary and had lodged a case against the truck driver, who fled after the accident.
