One held for outraging woman’s modesty

Chandigarh, November 17

A man, a resident of a colony in Sector 25, was arrested for stalking and outraging the modesty of a woman.

According to the police, the woman, a resident of Sector 25, alleged that Giani eve-teased her near the UIET in Sector 25 here.

A case under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 341 (wrongful restraint), 354-D (stalking), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC was registered against the accused at the Sector 11 police station.

Later, the police identified the accused as Vishal, alias Giani, and arrested him in this regard. An investigation has been initiated into the matter. — TNS
