A 22-year-old youth drowned in Tikkar Tal at Morni where he had gone on a picnic with his friends.

The deceased has been identified as Charanjit, a resident of Shahzadpur in Ambala district. The incident took place around 3 pm.

Family members suspect it to be a case of murder.

Gurcharan, brother of Charanjit, said his brother had gone to Morni with his friends on a picnic. He had informed his mother about it. Though his mother asked him not to go, he still went there, Gurcharan said.

Gurcharan alleged that his brother was murdered and the police should investigate the case thoroughly.
