Chandigarh, February 24

Six-year-old Nihaal Cheema bagged silver in the World Junior Golf Championship-2024 in Marbella (Spain). He played in the boys’ under-7 category. The tournament was played over three rounds of 13 holes each.

Cheema shot rounds of 55, 63 and 53 in the three-day event. His final round of 53 was the best score by any player in his category. Louie Gou from England stood first and Gonzalo Bernal Suarez from Spain third.

Nihaal, a student of Vivek High School, Sector 38, started playing golf at the age of two and practised at the Chandigarh Golf Club and the Chandigarh Golf Academy.
