Panchkula, April 19
A little over a month ahead of polling for the General Election, the election rally fever has reached the district’s Raipur Rani and Panchkula areas. The BJP is set to hold two rallies in the area soon.
Recently, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini organised a ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rally in the Naraingarh area, which falls under the Ambala constituency.
Leaders of the party who held a preparatory meeting in the city said the party would win all 10 seats in the state in the forthcoming General Election. They said the Chief Minister would hold a rally at Netaji Stadium in Raipur Rani on April 21 and another in Panchkula city on April 28.
BJP workers said the rallies to support Ambala candidate Banto Kataria were being organised by leaders including Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, district president Deepak Sharma, and former MLA Latika Sharma, among other prominent members of the party.
The party’s media co-incharge, Naveen Garg, said the party leaders were visiting all villages in a bid to invite more people to the rallies. Party leaders said the high command of the party was holding meetings to make both rallies a success. They said a meeting under the chairmanship of the district president, Deepak Sharma, was also organised in Panchkula on Friday.
Banto Kataria, wife of former Member of Parliament from the Ambala constituency, Rattan Lal Kataria, who breathed his last during his tenure in 2023, was the first candidate from a major party to be announced from the Ambala constituency.
