Dera Bassi MC chief resigns

DERA BASSI:The President of the Dera Bassi Municipal Council resigned from his post today.

Dera Bassi, February 18

The President of the Dera Bassi Municipal Council resigned from his post today.

Bhupinder Saini has resigned without completing his tenure. He submitted his resignation to the local MLA, NK Sharma, during a small religious ceremony held at the former’s house.

Bhupinder, while tendering his resignation, said he did what he was asked to do.

Meanwhile, the MLA expressed gratitude for Bhupinder’s ‘loyal service’ during his ongoing tenure.

The local political circles were abuzz with rumours over his resignation. Though the exact reason was not clear, it was believed that Bhupinder paved the way for his close aide, another SAD-BJP councillor, to complete the remaining tenure as MC president. — OC
