Residents oppose closing of road connecting Secs 36 & 42

CHANDIGARH:Residents of Attawa village in Sector 42 today opposed the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation’s move to close the road which connects Sector 36 and 42.

Chandigarh, February 22

Residents of Attawa village in Sector 42 today opposed the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation’s move to close the road which connects Sector 36 and 42. 

The MC staff today reached  the spot to remove the small rotary and close the road. But as soon as the MC staff reached there, the residents along with Congress leader Jasbir Bunty stopped the MC staff. 

Thereafter, the villagers, Congress president Pardeep Chhabra, Youth Congress president Harmail Kesari along with Congress workers also reached the spot. Bunty said the closure of road would affect the residents as the police station was in Sector 36, the SDM office and colleges are in Sector 42. They will meet MC Commissioner tomorrow, he said. — TNS
