CPWD employees stage protest

Chandigarh: CPDW employees comprising engineers, architects and office staff held a mass rally on Wednesday under the banner of the Joint Front of the CPWD Service Associations during the lunch hour at Kendriya Sadan in Sector 9 to protest against the recommendations made by Rajiv Gauba, Secretary, UD to the Prime Minister.



Chandigarh: CPDW employees comprising engineers, architects and office staff held a mass rally on Wednesday under the banner of the Joint Front of the CPWD Service Associations during the lunch hour at Kendriya Sadan in Sector 9  to protest against the recommendations made by Rajiv Gauba, Secretary, UD to the Prime Minister. The agitated members expressed their anguish against the recommendations terming them as mischievous proposal without any basis. — TNS

MC transfers sub-inspectors of enforcement wing

Chandigarh:  All sub-inspectors of the MC enforcement wing were transferred on Wednesday. Inspector Sunil Dutt, will remain the overall in-charge of all sub-inspectors. 

As per orders, instead of 11 am to 7 pm duty, the staff will be on duty from 12 noon to 8 pm. Besides, the two additional sub-inspectors will daily inspect the Sector 17 Plaza area between 5 pm and 8 pm along with a sub-inspector, who will be on duty from 12 noon to 8 pm at Sector 17. — TNS

Youth held for eve-teasing 

Chandigarh:  A 22-year-old youth has been arrested by the Chandigarh Police for allegedly teasing a minor girl and threatening her at Ram Darbar. Sources said the accused hadbeen identified as Sahil, a resident of Phase I, Ram Darbar.  A case against the accused has been registered at the Sector 31 police station and an investigation has been initiated. — TNS

Foetus found in dustbin at Dhanas 

Chandigarh:  A foetus was found in a dustbin at Dhanas on Wednesday. Some residents spotted the fetus after which they informed the police. Police teams rushed to the spot and began the probe. The police have kept the foetus in the mortuary at the Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16. A probe has been initiated at the Sarangpur police station. — TNS
