Chandigarh, February 22
Four accomplished danseuses led by world-acclaimed Guru Kasturi Pattanaik brought alive the lyrical grace of Odissi classical dance in their five executed choreographies in ‘Nriya Utsav' organised by Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi at Tagore Theatre here today.
Akademi chairman Kamal Arora welcomed chief guest and Kathak guru, Dr Jaswinder Kaur. The opening invocatory dance ‘Mangalacharan’ was an expression of devotion to Lord Shiva, performed by Guru Kasturi, Anita Raut and Ankita Jena before Ananaya Pattanaik joined them for pure dance number 'Nritta' titled 'Thei Ghara Nata'. Kasturi Pattanaik portrayed episodes of divine love of Radha-Krishna. —OC
