NEW DELHI:China’s expansionist overtures to showcase its economic might in the Indian subcontinent through its ambitious “One Belt One Road” initiative has forced India to revise its strategy as the government has asked Indian Railways to go slow on Chinese investment in its projects.

A senior Railway Board official said, “We have been advised to make preparations for developing our own variant of the semi-high speed networks.” — TNS
