Rs 10,000, mobile phone looted at gunpoint

A loot incident was reported on Friday in the city. In a broad daylight, three masked persons snatched away Rs 10,000 cash and a mobile phone at gunpoint from the owner at Satguru Shuttering store located at street number 4 in Shiv Colony in the city.

Shuttering store owner Inderjeet Garg said he, along with son Baljit Garg sits at the store, had gone to have lunch at his house in the afternoon and his son was at the store. Around 2.45 pm, three masked persons came on motorcycle and entered their store. They closed the store from inside, pointed gun at his son and demanded cash and mobile phone from him. His son gave them his mobile phone and Rs 10,000 which he was having in his pocket at that time.

Seeing the store door closed, workers Ram Lal and Tek Chand reached the store and knocked it from outside. The three masked person came outside and flee on their motorcycle.

They even tried to follow them, but miscreants pointed gun at them and threaten to kill them, after which they came back and stopped following them.

Inderjeet said after getting the information, he immediately reached the store and informed the police about this incident. Civil Lines police station SHO Rachpal Singh and DSP Investigation Karansher Singh Dhillon, along with a police team, reached the spot and started a probe into this incident.

The police checked CCTV footage of the camera installed in the street. DSP Karansher Singh said they had registered a case and started a probe into this incident.
