Bathinda: The Nathana police on Thursday found the body of a woman from the bank of the Sirhind canal near Poohli village.



Bathinda: The Nathana police on Thursday found the body of a woman from the bank of the Sirhind canal near Poohli village. The police have been unable to identify the deceased. The police have initiated a probe. Investigating officer Kaur Singh said body was send to a mortuary and post-mortem would be conducted after 72 hours. TNS

Bathinda: Unidentified persons stole jewellery and cash from a house in Maur Mandi. Satpal Singh, a resident of Maur Mandi, lodged a complaint with the police stating that he went out of station with his family and when they came back on January 5, they found cash and jewellery missing. During investigation, the police booked Johney Kumar, a resident of Maur Mandi, and Jagga Singh, a resident of Bhikhi in Mansa, who has been arrested. IO Jaswinder Singh said the stolen material would be recovered after the arrest of Johney. TNS
