2 held, 6 booked in assault cases

BATHINDA: The Bathinda police have booked eight persons in four cases of which two were arrested.

The Bathinda police have booked eight persons in four cases of which two were arrested.

In the first incident, the Nathana police have booked a person on the charge of attempt to murder in Lehra Mohhabat village.

In a complaint lodged by Kulwinder Singh, a resident of Lehra Mohhabat, it has been allegedly stated that Satnam Singh, a resident of Olak village in Mansa district, opened fire at him. The accused attacked him over some land dispute. A case has been registered against Satnam under Section 307 of the IPC and Sections 25, 27,54, 59-A of the Arms Act.

Another incident of assault occurred in Kalyan Malka village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Nathana police station. A complaint lodged by Yaadwinder Singh, a resident of the village, allegedly stated that Rashpal Singh and Dharamveer Singh, residents of Kalyan Malka, had assaulted him over some dispute related to land and money. A case has been registered against the duo under Sections 308, 342, 323 and 34 of the IPC. Investigating officer in the case Jaidev Singh said both accused were arrested.

The Nandgarh police have booked four accused in an assault case in Jhangirana village. In a complaint lodged by Harpal Singh, a resident of the village, it has been allegedly stated that Harpal Singh, Bhola Singh, Charanjeet Singh and Kuldeep Singh, all residents of the village, had assaulted him over some dispute over land.

A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 324, 323, 336, 506 and 34 of the IPC and 25, 27, 54 and 59-A of the Arms Act.

Another case was registered by the Nandgarh police on the complaint of Gurpinder Singh, a resident of Chak Attar Singh Wala village. As per the complaint, it has been allegedly stated that Baltej Singh, a resident of the village, had assaulted him with a sharp weapon in his village over some old enmity. A case has been registered against him under Sections 307, 326 and 324 of the IPC.
