Wife, brother booked on murder charge

TARN TARAN: A woman identified as Baljit Kaur and her paramour brother-in-law (husband’s brother) Jagjit Singh Jagga of Rattoke village have been booked under Section 302, 34 IPC in connection with the death of Baljit’s husband Varinder Singh, an army personnel, who died on November 19, 2016 under mysterious circumstances.

A woman identified as Baljit Kaur and her paramour brother-in-law (husband’s brother) Jagjit Singh Jagga of Rattoke village have been booked under Section 302, 34 IPC in connection with the death of Baljit’s husband Varinder Singh, an army personnel, who died on November 19, 2016 under mysterious circumstances.

The Chohla Sahib police had lodged a report under Section 174 CrPC on the statement of Baljit Kaur. She in her statement to the police said that her husband died while doing work in the house as the construction work was going on there. The body was cremated soon. Since then the residents were suspicious of the death.

Sukhwinder Kaur, deceased’s sister challenging the statement told the police that Baljit Kaur had illicit relations with Jagjit Singh Jagga and his brother was an obstacle in their relations. The accused killed him with sharp-edged weapons stated Sukhwinder Kaur in her statement. SHO Chohla Sahib sub-inspector Sukhraj Singh said after registering the case the police have initiated further investigation.
