Two held with intoxicants

AMRITSAR: The rural police arrested two persons carrying intoxicants here on Thursday.

The rural police arrested two persons carrying intoxicants here on Thursday.

Identified as Sukha Singh of Burdewali village and Satnam Singh of Amarkot village, they were found possessing 1,000 and 500 tablets, respectively. They could not produce any document with regard to the drugs. Sukh was caught in Ajnala while Satnam was nabbed in Amarkot village.

Besides, five gm of heroin was also seized from Satnam Singh. The police are interrogating the two to know where did they procure the contraband from. Separate cases under Sections 21, 22, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act have been registered against them.
