Amritsar, March 25

The Civil Lines police has arrested two persons in yesterday’s firing incident, which occurred outside the railway station, last evening.

Those arrested were identified as Anil Arora and his son Bharat Arora of the Sharifpura area. One of their accomplices Monu is still absconding. Anil owns a travel shop Sri Radhe Krishan Tour and Travels.

A case under Sections 336, 323, 506, 34 of the IPC and 25, 27, 54, 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against them on the complaint of Ashok Kumar of the Sharifpura area, who owns Chand Travellers, adjoining the shop of the accused.

An argument over construction of wall and fixing tiles was the reason behind opening fire by the accused. The incident led to panic on the busy railway link road. The police reached the spot and took a few persons in custody for investigation. —TNS
