Rape accused arrested

The city police on Tuesday arrested Sikander (32), who has allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl in Hussainpura for months. He is a former tenant of the complainant’s grandmother.

The accused was arrested from his house in Mustfabad. The accused is married and has two children.

Earlier, Sikander used to live on rent at the house of the girl in Hussanipur. At present, his brother resides in the same accommodation.

The victim has been living with her grandmother since the demise of her parents. The victim alleged that the accused had been raping her for the past several days.

The incident came to light when the victim told about it to her friend who later informed her mother. Her mother informed the grandmother of the victim.

According to the victim, the accused had also threatened her that he would kill her as well as her grandmother if she narrated about her ordeal to anyone.

Meanwhile the police also got conducted medical examination of victim girl.
