Paper-writing contest organised on waste water management

AMRITSAR: The city-based Guru Arjan Dev Institute of Development Studies today organised a paper-writing and presentation competition among school children on the theme “Recycling of waste water and reuse system”.

The city-based Guru Arjan Dev Institute of Development Studies today organised a paper-writing and presentation competition among school children on the theme “Recycling of waste water and reuse system”.

Presentation by Simranjeet Kaur of Holy Heart Presidency School was declared the Best Paper.

Dr Rajinder Kaur from the department of botany and environmental science, Guru Nanak Dev University, was the chief of the jury. Other members of the jury were Manosha Sharma from the department of education, GNDU, Jaspreet Kaur, department of physics, BBK DAV College for Women. Dr Parmjeet Kaur Nanda, Head of the Punjab School of Economics, GNDU, gave away the prizes to winners.

Dr Nanda congratulated the award winners and advised participants not to lose heart and work hard. Member of the organising committee Kanwar Sukhjinder Singh Chhatwal welcomed the audience and Parminder Kaur conducted the stage.

Dr Gursharan Singh Kainth, Chief Executive Officer and Director of the institute, said nearly 100 papers from various schools were received for the contest. Depending upon content and originality of the paper, only 12 papers were shortlisted and students were called for presentation.
