Now, pay bills, taxes online

After a long wait, the Citizen Facilitation Centre has finally been made functional. Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu and MC Commissioner Sonali Giri inaugurated it on Friday.

With the initiation of the project, the residents can pay their water and sewage bills online on the web portal. Other services include submission of property and other taxes, licence fee, processing of trade licence applications, building plans and notices to the defaulters online. They will get also get the facility of online birth and death record under e-governance.

The MC has roped in ICICI Bank which will provide the online transaction free of cost. The civic body will issue a unique identity number to every property owner in the city. The names of the defaulters will be displayed on the website.

Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu said the residents could access ww.amritsarcorp.com to avail the services.
