Five arrested with drugs

AMRITSAR: The police have arrested five persons, including two women, in separate incidents for allegedly possessing habit forming drugs.



Amritsar, June 20

The police have arrested five persons, including two women, in separate incidents for allegedly possessing habit forming drugs.

Those arrested were identified as Balwinder Singh of Maqboolpura, Sikander Kumar of Fateh Singh Colony and Akash of Dashmesh Avenue. Rajbir Kaur and Sarabjit Kaur, both of Bhangwa village in Majitha, were arrested by the rural police.

The police confiscated 320 intoxicating tablets from Balwinder Singh while Sikander was caught with 350 capsules and tablets. Akash was held with 300 capsules and tablets. Similarly, the police seized 100 intoxicating tablets from Rajbir and Sarabjit Kaur. Separate cases under the NDPS Act have been registered against them.

Meanwhile, the Gate Hakima police nabbed Shashi Kumar of Islamabad and Vijay Singh of Chabal Kalan village for allegedly possessing 5 gm of heroin. — TNS
