10 thieves arrested in separate incidents

AMRITSAR: The city police arrested 10 thieves in three separate incidents and recovered nine mobile phones and a stolen motorcycle from their possession.

The city police arrested 10 thieves in three separate incidents and recovered nine mobile phones and a stolen motorcycle from their possession.

In two separate incidents, the CIA staff have nabbed seven persons and seized eight cell phones from their possession.

Yodha Singh of Ajnala, Kulwant Singh of Fateh Singh Colony, Tindu of Fatahpur village and Harwinder Singh of Rajpura were nabbed with four mobile phones. According to the police, they used to steal mobiles and purse of devotees coming to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple here.

Similarly, Kapil Saini of Maqboolpura, Deep Pal Singh of Chowk Karori and Sandeep Singh of Pathankot (who now resides at Fatehpur Rajpootan village in Jandiala Guru) were held by the police with four mobile phones. They used to steal belongings of passengers at bus stand.

Separate cases under Section 379, 411 of the IPC have been registered against them, the police said, adding that they were sent to judicial custody after preliminary probe.

Meanwhile, the Chheharta police nabbed Saweman Singh of Kurali village and Sarwan Singh of Madoke for allegedly stealing motorcycles. The police seized a stolen motorcycle from their possession. In another incident Sarwan Singh of Patti Dhir Di at Varpal village was held with a stolen mobile phone.
