Haryana Director General of Police SN Vashisht today said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Hisar Superintendent of Police Satyendra Gupta would carry out a search of Satlok Ashram and submit its report in two days.

The police entered the ashram today after obtaining a search warrant from the court. Vashisht said the police also arrested Baljit, Rampal's close associate and second in command, and his daughter, Babita, who stayed at the ashram and managed its affairs. "The police have recovered a laptop with charger, six cellphones, 10 hard disks, 17 CDs, three telephone diaries, a ring timer and five files regarding the trust from her possession. The hard disk and CDs will be scanned by a special team, including cyber experts," he said.

The SIT includes two DSPs, four inspectors, an SSO of forensic science, supporting staff and cyber unit. Vashisht said the police have also arrested Ram Kanwar Dhaka, Ravinder Dhaka, Purshotam and Ramavtar in the case.

The DGP said Rampal was arrested from Barwala's Satlok Ashram last night and was taken to the Sector 6 General Hospital in Panchkula as he complained of ill health.

After doctors declared Rampal medically fit this morning, he was taken to the Sector 5 police station in Panchkula where he was kept in police custody.

"Rampal was produced in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in the contempt of court case and would again be produced on November 28. Till then, he will remain in judicial custody. He has been taken to Hisar for investigations," the DGP said.

Vashisht said Satlok Ashram had been fully vacated. "The police have so far arrested 459 persons in the case - 118 of Rajasthan, 116 of Haryana, 72 of Madhya Pradesh, 10 of Bihar, 83 of Uttar Pradesh and three of Nepal. More persons could be rounded up," he said.

Asked about the fate of three minor children separated from their parents during the incident, he said Inspector General, Hisar Range, had spoken to the Deputy Commissioner in this regard. "Appropriate action would be taken as per the provisions of the Children's Act. The children will be kept under the state protection," he said.
