No country can warn India, Rajnath tells China New Delhi, October 16 Rajnath Singh's statement comes just hours after Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei, in Beijing yesterday, said: "A dispute exists in the eastern sector of the China-India boundary, pending final settlement of the boundary question. We hope that the Indian side will refrain from taking actions in the disputed areas that may complicate the (boundary) question.” Rajnath Singh, speaking on the sidelines of the National Security Guard's 30th Raising Day held at Manesar near Delhi today, said: “No country can issue a warning to India. India has emerged as a strong country.” Rajnath Singh also said, “As far as the India-China border issue is concerned, I think China should sit with India and resolve this issue.” Meanwhile, a working group on the India-China boundary issue met in New Delhi today. This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 18 had told Chinese President Xi Jinping that there was a need to clarify the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on the ground. India and China have an undemarcated 3,488 kilometre long Line of Actual Control. Hong had reacted to the Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju’s statement. Rijiju had, on Tuesday, said that the construction of a road was planned between Mago-Thingbu in Tawang and Vijaynagar in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh. This area is disputed by China. “The proposed 2,000-km road is still in the conceptual stage. It would be beneficial from the security point of view but would also accelerate border area development,” said Rijiju, who is also a Member of Parliament from the same state.
