PM Modi visits J&K to review flood situation, Politicos react
New Delhi, Sep 07 (ANI): Political leaders on Sunday reacted on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jammu and Kashmir to review situation in flood-affected areas. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that situation in JandK has become intense and the Central and State government should make every possible effort to rescue the residents. NCP leader Majid Memon said that it is the responsibility of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister to take note of the situation and reach out to the people as soon as possible.



Situation getting better in Jammu but worsening in Kashmir, appeal people not to panic: Omar Abdullah
Jammu, Sep 07 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday gave a review of flood situation in the state. Abdullah said that situation is getting better in Jammu and water level has started to fall down. He said that the government is focusing upon relief work followed by rehabilitation of the rescued people. He then said that situation is worsening in areas of Kashmir where water level has risen up to the level of first floors.



Germany's foreign minister visits New Delhi to boost bilateral trade
New Delhi, Sep 07 (ANI): German Foreign Minister Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier has arrived in New Delhi for a three-day visit to hold political and business talks with India in a bid to boost bilateral trade. During his visit, Steinmeier will hold talks with the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, his counterpart Sushma Swaraj as well as Education Minister Smriti Irani, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and the Trade Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. He is scheduled to hold meetings with Indian business leaders in order to boost bilateral trade and facilitate German investment in India.

 



BJP clarifies Amit Shah's controversial statement on communal tension in UP
New Delhi, Sep 07 (ANI): BJP Spokesperson Bizay Sonkar Shastri on Sunday clarified BJP President Amit Shah's controversial statement that communal tension in Uttar Pradesh will help BJP win the polls. Shastri said that Shah wanted to convey the message that the government in UP has always used communal tension as a tool for polarization of votes and if the situation continues it will make easy for BJP to win UP elections. He added that Shah meant that people of Uttar Pradesh are observing the situation under SP government and will take the right decision in choosing next government.
