Shimla, August 5
Having boycotted most part of the budget session in February, an aggressive BJP is geared up to take on the ruling party during the 16-day monsoon session of the Assembly commencing tomorrow.

The fact that 602 starred questions and106 un-starred ones will be taken up during the longest-ever monsoon session is an indication of the fact that the session will be animated. Beginning August 6, the session will end on August 29 with a total of 16 sittings.

So far, two private member and seven resolutions under Rule 130 have been received by the Vidhan Sabha secretariat. Two important Bills on amendments in the Lokayukta and Town and Country Planning are likely to be passed.

Having lost out the opportunity of taking on the government during the brief budget session, the BJP legislators are all set to take on the Congress regime over issues like corruption, dilution of Section 118 of the Tenancy and Land Reform Act, discrimination with Assembly segments of BJP MLAs, mining and drug menace.
