Kurukshetra July 27
Reacting to Akal Takht’s fresh directions to restrain the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee from functioning, its chief Jagdish Singh Jhinda said: “The Akal Takht Jathedar should take decisions as per the law and not in someone’s favour.”

“The HSGMC has been constituted the way the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) was formed. Everything has been done as per the law,” he said.

“We will appoint experienced persons to manage Haryana gurdwaras in the coming days. The existing employees, who have been appointed by the SGPC, will continue their services. The committee will have its headquarters in Kaithal, said Jhinda.

Critical of the Akal Takht Jathedar, HSGMC senior vice-president Didar Singh Nalvi said: The HSGMC has been formed as per the law and will continue to manage gurdwaras in Haryana. The Jathedar’s direction has hurt the sentiments of Haryana Sikhs. Since someone has filed a writ in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the matter is no more subjected to Akal Takht.”
