Tribune News Service

New Delhi, July 14
The Congress today alleged the role of Prime Minister's Office in the controversial meeting between journalist Ved Prakash Vaidik and India's most wanted terrorist Hafiz Saeed.

Hours after the House led to adjournment of Rajya Sabha twice, the Congress alleged direct link between people working on the Vivekananda Foundation and those elevated to the PMO.

Shakeel Ahmed, a party spokesperson, said, "Functionaries of Vivekananda Foundation have been elevated to the PMO. These include Nripendra Mishra, who became principal secretary; PK Mishra, who became additional secretary; and Ajit Doval, who is now National Security Adviser. Vaidik is also part of the same foundation and the PMO's role in his meeting with Hafiz is clear and direct." The Congress said the answer given by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Rajya Sabha that the government had nothing to do with the meeting cut no ice because the link was all too clear to be ignored.
