New Delhi, July 2
Pre-monsoon rainfall today lashed parts of northern India, bringing relief to the people from the sweltering heat. Thundershowers in Delhi brought respite from the hot and humid conditions. The city received 4mm rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. Punjab and Haryana, too, received rainfall which brought temperatures down.

Moderate to heavy rainfall hit Ambala, Patiala and the union territory of Chandigarh this morning.

The northern limit of monsoon (NLM) continues to pass through Veraval, Surat, Nashik, Washim, Damoh, Lucknow, Bareilly, Ambala and Amritsar.

However, conditions continue to remain favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon into some more parts of MP, remaining parts of UP, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab.
