All work, no fun
Though 200 MPs were expected to attend the training session, only 165 arrived on the first day.
The first half of the session was held from 9.30 am to 1 pm and the second half from 2 pm to 6 pm.
With no special programmes arranged for the MPs’ entertainment, the participants called it strict classroom-type training.
No mediaperson was allowed inside the venue when the session was on.
Traffic was halted for more than two hours on the Surajkund road when the PM was present at the venue.
With all vegetarian dishes on the table, special focus was laid on Gujarati and Rajasthani food.

Faridabad, June 28
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked the newly elected BJP MPs to imbibe strong values and be known for their work at the end of the day.

Modi addressed nearly 165 MPs during the inaugural session of the two-day training programme at Surajkund today. Home Minister and BJP president Rajnath Singh and Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu shared the dais with Modi.

Modi said the party would appreciate those who were able to carve a niche for themselves in the next five years. Introducing himself as a first-timer, Modi said the MPs should not hesitate in learning from anyone and at anytime, as performing well as parliamentarians was their biggest test.

Asking the MPs to develop a sense of mission, expertise and responsibility towards their constituencies, Modi told them to use the social media to promote various programmes and gather feedback on their work. He asked them to focus on their conduct both in Parliament and in public.

In his 40-minute speech, the PM asked them to improve their attendance in the House and strengthen their skills by reflecting on problems of their constituencies.
