Woman gang-raped in police station
Hamirpur, June 12 (ANI): A woman has allegedly been gangraped in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur by
sub-inspector inside the station premises. The woman said she had gone to the police station to get her husband released, but the
sub-inspector asked her for a bribe of Rs 20,000. The woman did not pay the bribe and was allegedly told that a false case would be lodged against her. She was later taken to a room by
the sub-inspector where she was raped by the officer and three other policemen. The police have lodged an FIR and the
sub-inspector has been arrested.
Police file negligence case in Mandi river tragedy
Mandi/ New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) in
the case of Mandi river tragedy after 24 students were swept away by gushing waters from a dam discharge in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The students
belonged to a private engineering college in Hyderabad and had gone missing on Sunday after stopping to take photographs. Police have filed negligence cases against
dam officials.
Campa Cola residents vow
not to hand over their keys
Mumbai, June 12 (ANI): Even as the sword of eviction looms over their head, Mumbai's Campa Cola society residents
said they would not hand over the keys of their houses. The deadline for the residents to hand over the keys of their illegal flats
ended today at 5 pm, but the residents were adamant at their stance. Brihan Mumbai Corporation had earlier
put May 2 as deadline to the residents by which the residents failed to evict their homes.
Now, the municipality had again asked the residents to evict their houses by
today evening.
