Karachi airport cleared of attackers, siege claims 23 lives
Karachi, June 9 (ANI): The more than 5-hour siege laid by heavily armed militants, which claimed at least the lives of 23 people, including security personnel at Karachi airport is now over. At least 23 persons, including 10 terrorists have been killed when heavily armed militants attacked the Jinnah International Airport's old terminal in Pakistan's financial capital Karachi. Ten militants were also among the dead.
Mandi flash floods: 5 bodies recovered from Beas river
Mandi, June 9 (ANI): Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has revealed that about five bodies, including bodies of two girls and one boy, have been recovered from river Beas after flash floods washed away 25 people in Mandi on Sunday. People who were washed away due to the flash floods include 24 students of Hyderabad VNR Vigyan Jyoti College and one tour manager.
Two militants die in gunbattle with Indian security forces in Kashmir
Pulwama, June 9 (ANI): Indian security forces have gunned down two militants belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) operating in Kashmir. As soon as they received the information of the hide out at about 4:50pm on Sunday, a joint operation was launched by the Rashtriya (National) Rifle Unit and Special Operation Group (SOG) of police, at Pulwama in Kakpura village that resulted in the killing of the two hardcore LeT militants.
All 17 cops accused in 2009 Ranveer Encounter Case get life imprisonment
New Delhi, June 09 (ANI): A special CBI court on Monday sentenced all 17 Uttarakhand cops accused in 2009 Ranveer Fake Encounter Case to life imprisonment. Earlier, a Delhi court on Friday convicted 18 Uttarakhand police personnel, including 7 on a charge of murder. Meanwhile, the lawyer in the case said that they will go to the High Court to file review petition and claimed that Ranveer was a terrorist.
