In one's attempt to understand dance music, which struggles to define itself on the parameters of several sub-genres ranging from electronic, techno to house music, there is more than just its essence that's lost. In conversation with Hamza, the owner of Wind Horse Records, the first house music label of India, who recently launched his album, Gitano (the Spanish word for gypsy), we stand acquainted with several facets of commercial and underground dance music. While the album was released in February this year, Hamza has been touring the country only to culminate his promotional journey in Chandigarh, where he will perform at F Bar with Rajasthani folk artists, Jasu Khan and Latif Khan of Mangar community, on Wednesday.
