Tripura roots for access to Bangladesh port to transport food grains
Agartala, May 1 (ANI): Tripura has approached the central government to gain access to Chittagong sea port of Bangladesh in order to transport essential commodities to the state. Earlier in a major policy change, the Bangladesh government had agreed to transport 10,000 tonnes of food grains for Tripura from Haldia (port in West Bengal) to Ashuganj (port in Bangladesh). The successful transit of the food grains through the neighboring nation will not only reduce the distance of more than 1600 km between Tripura and West Bengal through the hilly serpentine road to one-third and thus save huge amount of transportation money, but will also save precious time.
1 dead, 9 injured in twin blasts on train at Chennai Railway Station
Chennai, May 01 (ANI): One passenger died and nine others were injured in a bomb blast at an express train that was stationed off platform number nine at the Chennai Central Railway Station on Thursday. Police teams have arrived at the spot to conduct an investigation as to what caused the blast on the train that was about to leave the station. The railway station platform, has been cordoned off.
BJP warns Pakistan not to interfere in India’s internal matters
New Delhi, May 01 (ANI): BJP Spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi, warned Pakistan not to interfere and intervene in India’s internal matters, specially in the electoral politics of the country. Lekhi said that India is very clear about not interfering in internal matters of any other country. Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan interior minister, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, had slammed BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi, over his statement on Dawood Ibrahim and had warned that Modi could become a major threat to regional peace and cooperation. Modi had recently claimed that he will bring back Dawood from Pakistan after coming to power. Meenakshi Lekhi ,asked Pakistan to issue a statement on Dawood’s whereabouts.
